Recently, we have learned from official sources that the domestically produced Volvo EX30 model will make its debut at the Beijing Auto Show. As the latest compact all-electric SUV under the Volvo brand, this vehicle embodies Volvo’s newest design philosophy, with a length of 4.2 meters and an estimated electric range of 480 kilometers.
Volvo EX30 Introduction
The domestically produced Volvo EX30 has already completed its declaration with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In terms of design, it features a compact and sleek overall shape, with clean body lines that carry on Volvo’s signature design language. The most striking feature of the front end is the “T”-shaped headlights, which incorporate a grid-like light source for a high-tech appearance. The front grille adopts a closed design but retains Volvo’s logo, which resembles a seatbelt buckle.
The new vehicle adopts a split-type taillight design, with a circular ring-shaped element at the bottom that appears to illuminate only the left and right sides, as seen in previously leaked official images. Additionally, the Cross Country version of the vehicle will be launched later, featuring more rugged body components. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4233/1838/1555mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2650mm, making it slightly shorter in length and wheelbase compared to the Volvo XC40.
Based on the interior design of the overseas version seen before, the EX30’s interior follows Volvo’s typical minimalist style, but with a centralized approach to space design. The center console features a 12.3-inch central screen, and the vehicle introduces the innovative Echo Wall sound system, which spans the entire front panel, reducing the need for speakers and wiring. This marks the first appearance of such a system in an automobile.
In terms of powertrain, the previously declared models come in two versions with maximum power outputs of 115kW and 200kW respectively. Reports indicate that the vehicle can support charging power of up to 134kW, enabling the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes. As for the electric range, the official statement indicates a maximum range of 480 kilometers.
