BYD’s FCB brand unveiled the FCB 3 concept car at today’s Spring Launch Event. The vehicle, known as the SUPER 3, will share the BYD DMO Super Hybrid Off-road platform with the FCB 5 and FCB 8.
The FCB SUPER 3 positions itself as a compact SUV and adopts a pure electric drivetrain. Drawing inspiration from “Star Wars armor,” its design incorporates the “Star Wars chassis” to deliver an unparalleled driving experience. The vehicle targets enthusiasts and is set to make its official debut at the Beijing Auto Show.
In terms of appearance, the FCB 3 adopts a completely different design language from the familiar FCB 5. Inspired by starships, it features a dynamic black grille with an LCD screen displaying charging information. The side profile showcases a sleek and aggressive design, with an upward-sloping waistline and prominent black wheel arches that enhance its powerful stance. The hidden door handles, electronic rearview mirrors, red and black mixed roof rack, and a drone landing pad are also part of its design.
At the rear, the FCB 3 sports banner-style taillights and a rugged “mini backpack” that symbolizes off-road capability. To enhance the sporty ambiance, the FCB SUPER 3 features a large spoiler, and it offers robust expandability options.
Powering the FCB 3 is the BYD DMO Super Hybrid Off-road platform, complemented by the Yunnian-P Intelligent Vehicle Control System. It maintains the core off-road features of power, fuel efficiency, safety, and comfort.
