BYD Eye of the Gods 5.0: 160M+ km Daily Driving Data Collected
On January 28, 2026, BYD released version 5.0 of its "Eye of the Gods" advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS). This version incorporates the latest large language models and, building upon a fully closed-loop, end-to-end system, enhances reinforcement learning capabilities to create an industry-leading ADAS experience.
The core advantages of "Eye of the Gods" 5.0 lie in reinforcement learning and closed-loop training, enabling the AI large model to self-evolve. Through multi-dimensional learning in real-world scenarios, the algorithm becomes smarter, providing users with an ultra-safe, ultra-human-like, and ultra-efficient assisted driving experience. The new version relies on massive data to drive rapid model iteration and rapid experience improvement, using high-value data to enhance safety. As of the end of last year, BYD had over 2.56 million vehicles equipped with ADAS, and the "Eye of the Gods" system generates over 160 million kilometers of driving data daily.

The "Eye of the Gods" 5.0 system adds Automatic Emergency Steering (AES) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) functions, including obstacle avoidance for stationary vehicles at 130 km/h during the day, braking for stationary vehicles in tunnels at 135 km/h, and braking for children crossing in blind spots during daytime turns. It supports lane changes to bypass parked vehicles, smooth and decisive maneuvering in narrow roads, and multi-point turns in narrow spaces. It can also achieve smooth overtaking of slow-moving two-wheeled vehicles in narrow roads, smooth maneuvering around construction zones, and smooth navigation through narrow alleys.
