With these questions in mind, and also to better understand how BYD forklifts are perceived by different personnel, we randomly visited a certain warehousing and logistics park and interviewed the staff members.

Leading technology and good service
“Leading technology and good service” is the response from the equipment procurement manager of the warehousing and logistics park when asked about their view of BYD forklifts.
The equipment procurement manager of the warehousing and logistics park stated that when they initially decided to replace their new energy handling equipment, they conducted in-depth research on various products in the market, especially in terms of product quality and after-sales service.
From the perspective of product quality, whether it is foreign brands or domestic brands, the overall difference is not significant. It can even be said that some domestic brands surpass foreign brands in terms of technology. Taking the BYD forklift they finally purchased as an example, its battery technology and the related processes such as the electrical control and charging built around the battery are convincing. In terms of after-sales service, brands with local after-sales networks have advantages because they provide better guarantee in terms of after-sales cost and time. From this perspective, the advantages of domestic brands are more apparent, and domestic brands also have a better understanding of the pain points in after-sales service in the domestic market.
Therefore, in the equipment procurement process, the warehousing and logistics park ultimately decided to purchase from domestic brands, and BYD forklifts, relying on their unique advantages in technology, became the final “winner of the bid.”

Comfortable driving, noise-free
“Comfortable driving, noise-free” is the response from forklift drivers and warehouse personnel at the warehousing and logistics park when asked about their view of BYD forklifts.
The forklift drivers mentioned that they have had the opportunity to operate various forklift models, from internal combustion forklifts to the current new energy lithium-ion forklifts. Based on their experience, the most noticeable feature of the new energy lithium-ion forklifts is their quiet and smoke-free operation. Compared to internal combustion forklifts, the previous lead-acid electric forklifts felt less powerful during use.
“For instance, under the same tonnage, internal combustion forklifts can easily lift heavy loads and have a faster driving speed when transporting them compared to lead-acid forklifts,” said one of the drivers.
However, they also mentioned that with the rapid development of new energy lithium-ion forklifts in recent years, this difference has become less pronounced. Now, the performance of internal combustion forklifts and new energy lithium-ion forklifts in handling tasks is comparable. Additionally, the noise-free and smoke-free operation of the new energy lithium-ion forklifts significantly improves the working environment, making them the preferred choice.
One experienced forklift driver specifically pointed out, “I can’t speak for BYD forklifts in general, but I can share my personal experience with them. Even after driving for long periods, my back and legs don’t ache as much as they used to. I’ve been driving forklifts for almost 10 years since I obtained my forklift license, and to be honest, driving a forklift is similar to driving a car. After a while, your back and legs start to feel uncomfortable. However, since I started using BYD’s new energy electric forklift in the past couple of years, although the situation still exists, it has improved significantly compared to earlier years. Their ergonomic design is indeed effective.”

Energy-saving, emission-free
“Energy-saving, emission-free” is the response from the relevant personnel at the warehousing and logistics park when asked about their view of BYD forklifts.
In the current context of green development and dual carbon goals, using clean handling equipment in logistics and warehousing not only meets policy requirements but also reflects the social responsibility of the operators.
“By purchasing new energy lithium-ion forklifts under the BYD brand, we aim to upgrade and transform the handling equipment in the park. On one hand, we want to provide a better warehousing environment for the service enterprises in the park. On the other hand, the storage requirements for goods in the park have been further enhanced in terms of pollution. For example, if we continue to use internal combustion forklifts, we may not meet the customers’ cleanliness requirements for the park, which could result in the loss of customers,” said the responsible person. “At the same time, through daily use after procurement, we have found that the overall operating cost of new energy lithium-ion forklifts is much lower than that of internal combustion forklifts. This has opened up a new path for us in energy-saving and emission reduction. In the future, we plan to replace all the remaining internal combustion forklifts in the park with new energy lithium-ion forklifts to create a ‘low-carbon logistics park.'”
