On May 25th, Geely Automobile announced that the 2024 Geely ICON Linglong was officially launched with three models, with an official guide price starting from 96900 yuan. This car can be seen as a facelift of ICON, mainly adjusting the body color and configuration to compete with the Honda XR-V. As a reference, the official guide price of the old Geely ICON is 109900 to 129900 yuan, and the entry-level price of the new model has been reduced by 13000 yuan.
The 2024 Geely ICON Linglong offers three configurations: Qingcheng, Ruyi, and Jinxi, as well as five exterior color schemes: Fa Grey, Cai Pink, Diamond Grey, Fu White, and Bao Blue. The interior continues to offer three color combinations, but the naming has been adjusted. At the same time, the new model comes standard with a dual color body, while the mid-range model adds hidden door handles and an electric tailgate.
In terms of design, the 2024 Geely ICON Linglong continues the old model, with a single spoke grille at the front and “chocolate contrasting” decorative blocks on the front and rear bumpers. It comes standard with automatic LED headlights, electrically heated/defrosted external rearview mirrors, boneless wipers, panoramic sunroof, and 18 inch multi spoke aluminum alloy wheels. The mid to high end models also offer 19 inch wheels, floor welcome lights/steering assist lighting, etc.
The interior design is basically the same as the old model, and the 2024 Geely ICON Linglong will continue to provide a dual screen consisting of a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 12.3-inch central control screen, matched with the Geely Galaxy OS car infotainment system. The vehicle supports remote control through a mobile app and can remotely turn on air conditioning, etc. The other configuration differences of the three models are as follows:
Qingcheng version, with core standard voice interaction/4G network+in car WiFi, Huawei Hicar interconnection, 4 airbags CN95 air conditioning filter, leather seats, 6 speakers, driver’s window one click up and down, rear air conditioning vents, driver’s 6-way electrically adjustable seats, panoramic imaging+chassis perspective, cruise control, electronic parking, etc.
The Ruyi version has added a one click up and down feature for all car windows L2 level driving assistance (including ICC intelligent navigation AEB pre collision safety system, rear central armrest with cup holder, heated front seats, 72 color ambient lighting, trunk shelter curtain, etc.
The Jinxi version will further upgrade/add driver’s seat memory, intelligent parking/RPA-L remote control parking, reverse tracking, blind spot monitoring, 6 airbags, 12 parking radars, negative ion generator air purification, passenger seat electric adjustment, facial recognition driver status monitoring, etc.
In terms of power, the 2024 Geely ICON Linglong continues to be equipped with a 1.5TD four cylinder engine, with a maximum power of 133 kW and a maximum torque of 290 Nm, paired with a 7-speed wet dual clutch transmission. The vehicle has a comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers (WLTC condition) and an acceleration time of 7.9 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour.
In terms of sales, Geely ICON has sold 5986 units in the past six months, ranking 22nd on the small SUV sales list. As a fuel powered vehicle, Geely ICON’s competitors mainly include Honda XR-V/Binzhi, Changan CS35 PLUS, Nissan Jinke, Volkswagen Touareg, and other models.
