On July 4th, we learned that BYD’s mid size SUV, the Song L DM-i, will be equipped with the fifth generation DM technology, with a pure electric range of 112 kilometers or around 150000 to 180000 yuan. According to previous information, although the car is called the Song L DM-i, it uses a different platform than the currently available Song L pure electric version.
Looking back at the appearance, this car adopts the Longyan design language, with a narrow headlight group and a large-sized front grille, making it highly recognizable overall. At the same time, guide grooves are added on both sides of the grille to enhance the sense of sportiness. Looking at the rear, it adopts the popular through type tail light group, and adds a serious dragon scale decoration to the details of the light chamber, combined with a large-sized spoiler above, which is young and fashionable.
In terms of body size, the new car has a length, width, and height of 4780/1898/1670mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2782mm. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid power system consisting of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The maximum power of the engine is 74kW, and the maximum power of the electric motor is 160kW. The battery is made of lithium iron phosphate battery, with a maximum speed of 180km/h.
