Recently, we learned from official sources that the BYD Song L DM-i and Song PLUS DM-i will be launched on July 25th. The Song L DM-i is positioned as a mid size SUV, filling the product gap between the BYD Dynasty Network Song Pro DM-i and Tang DM-i. The new Song PLUS DM-i continues the exterior design of the current model and is expected to upgrade to the all-new DM5.0 technology, just like the Song L DM-i.

In terms of appearance

The Song L DM-i inherits the front face design of the dynasty family, with chrome decoration connecting the left and right headlights. The lower part is a large-sized grille with horizontal dot matrix chrome decoration inside, and exaggerated air intake designs on both sides. After the daytime running lights are turned on, a U-shaped light strip will be formed.

The lines of its two wheel arches are powerful, and the chrome decoration is just right. In terms of vehicle dimensions, the length, width, and height of the new car are 4780/1898/1670mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2782mm. At the rear of the vehicle, the through type taillights with “Chinese knot” elements and transparent outer cover show a certain sense of dynamism. The BYD logo in the center of the tail can self illuminate. The appearance colors include ice green, French blue, tea crystal gray, and Runyu white.

Conveying the minimalist design concept, the interior is simple without complicated designs, and 31 color ambient lights run through the entire center console. The new car is equipped with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen, a LCD instrument panel, and a head up display. The DiLink intelligent cockpit is equipped with a variety of apps, and the car is also equipped with 10 speaker Infinity surround sound effects. Below the center console, there is a 50W wireless charging.

Power aspect

The new car will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The SnapCloud plug-in hybrid engine has a maximum power of 74kW, the electric motor has a maximum power of 160kW, and the battery uses a lithium iron phosphate blade battery. The maximum speed is 180km/h, the pure electric range is 112km from start, and the maximum pure electric range is 160km.

The new car is equipped with a fast charging interface. In terms of suspension, it adopts front MacPherson independent suspension and rear four-bar independent suspension, with FSD variable damping shock absorbers. In terms of intelligent driving, the new car is equipped with DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, which supports adaptive cruise control, lane change, lane guidance, and automatic parking.
