The battery, endurance, and fuel consumption data of the new BYD Song PLUS DM-i have been exposed. It is reported that the new Song PLUS DM-i will adopt BYD’s newly released fifth generation DM hybrid technology. There are reports that the car may be renamed as the Haishi 05 DM-i in the future, but there has been no official confirmation.
Based on the vehicle power information and this announcement, the new Song PLUS DM-i will adopt the fifth generation DM hybrid technology. The 1.5-liter engine has a maximum power of 74 kW and the drive motor has a maximum power of 160 kW. Compared with the current model, the maximum power of the engine is reduced by 7 kW and the maximum power of the drive motor is increased by 15 kW.
The vehicle will continue to be equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries with capacities of 18.316 kWh and 26.593 kWh, corresponding to WLTC operating conditions with pure electric range of 91 kilometers and 128 kilometers, respectively. Compared with the current model, the pure electric range of batteries of the same specification has been increased by 6 kilometers and 12 kilometers, respectively. In addition, the fuel consumption per 100 kilometers fed by the WLTC working condition of the car is 4.95 liters and 4.98 liters respectively, which is 3.05 liters and 4.02 liters lower than the current model.
According to previous declaration information, the exterior design of the new Song PLUS DM-i basically continues the design of the current model, but the tail details have been adjusted, replacing the “BUILD YOU DREAMS” logo with the “BYD” logo. In terms of body size, the new Song PLUS DM-i measures 4775/1890/1670 millimeters in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2765 millimeters. The size remains unchanged and is positioned as a compact SUV. In addition, the car is equipped with 19 inch wheels and offers features such as a panoramic sunroof and roof luggage rack.
The BYD Song PLUS DM-i is positioned as a compact SUV, with models in the same class including the Geely Galaxy L7 and Haval Xiaolong. According to sales data, the cumulative sales of this car in the past six months have exceeded 131000 units, maintaining a leading position among plug-in hybrid models in the same class. In addition to slightly better sales than the Song Pro DM-i, it has significant advantages compared to other models.
