BYD Ocean Network’s new mid size sedan, the Seal 06 DM-i, has been officially launched with a total of 5 models, with an official guide price range of 99800-139800 yuan. The car is positioned between the destroyer 05 and the seal DM-i, and adopts BYD’s fifth generation DM technology. At the same time, the Qin L DM-i under Dynasty Net has also been launched, which can be seen as the “brother model” of the Seal 06 DM-i.
The Seal 06 DM-i is positioned as a mid size sedan, with dimensions of 4830/1875/1495 millimeters in length, width, and height, and a wheelbase of 2790 millimeters. Compared to the Dynasty Net Qin L, the width of the car is reduced by 25 millimeters, while other data remains consistent. The car is equipped with a three section waistline on the side and features a semi hidden door handle design. In addition, we offer three different sizes and designs of wheels: 16 inch, 17 inch, and 18 inch.
The Seal 06 DM-i is equipped with through type tail lights, and the internal structure of the light chamber has been redesigned with a luminous “BYD” logo. The rear bumper design echoes the front of the car, and also incorporates a diffuser design and body color trim. It is reported that the car will offer four colors: Qinhai Green, Warm Smoke Tea, Atlantis Grey, and Snow White.
The car adopts a wrap around design and is equipped with an 8.8-inch floating LCD instrument panel. The floating central control screen is available in three sizes: 10.1-inch, 12.8-inch, and 15.6-inch depending on the configuration. The car is equipped with DiLink intelligent networking system, providing functions such as intelligent voice, intelligent entry, customized version of Gaode Map, and reverse image.
In terms of configuration, the Seal 06 DM-i provides original ETC, 6 airbags, rear air vents, tire pressure monitoring and other functions. The 120 kilometer model has added panoramic sunroof, DiPilot driving assistance system, remote airbags, 4-way electric adjustment of the passenger seat, and an in car driving recorder; The top of the line model offers an 8-speaker system, front seat ventilation/heating, driver’s seat 8-way electric adjustment+memory, induction wipers, PM2.5 green net system, and more.
The Seal 06 DM-i adopts BYD’s fifth generation DM technology and is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter engine and a drive motor. The 1.5-liter engine has a maximum power of 74 kW, and the drive motor provides two tuning options for peak power of 120 kW and 160 kW. In addition, the car comes standard with a front MacPherson and a brand new rear E-type four link independent suspension, with a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour.
In terms of endurance, the vehicle is equipped with two specifications of lithium iron phosphate blade batteries with capacities of 10.08 kilowatt hours and 15.874 kilowatt hours. The corresponding pure electric range under CLTC conditions is 80 kilometers and 120 kilometers, respectively. The comprehensive fuel consumption under NEDC conditions is 2.9 liters and 3.08 liters per 100 kilometers of feeding. At the same time, the 120 kilometer model offers 22 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC slow charging (with a 7 kW home charging station included), while the 80 kilometer model only offers 3.3 kW AC slow charging.
