Xiami Car Logo
The logo of Xiaomi Automobile showcases the “MI” lettering enclosed within a distinctive super-ellipse shape. This logo design was created by Kenichiro Yoshida in 2021. The updated version of the logo features an optimized background in which the iconic orange color has been removed. Instead, silver-grey highlights and shadows have been added, resulting in a sleek and rounded pebble-like appearance. The black “MI” letters at the center of the emblem have a glass mirror-like texture, adding a touch of uniqueness and character to the overall logo design.
Introduction to Xiaomi Electric Vehicle Company
Xiaomi Automobile Co., Ltd. was officially registered and established on September 1, 2021, with Lei Jun serving as the legal representative and a registered capital of 10 billion RMB.
In an announcement made on March 30, 2021, Lei Jun revealed that Xiaomi Group would establish a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to the smart electric vehicle business. This led to the signing of a cooperation agreement between Xiaomi and the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee on November 27, 2021, officially establishing Xiaomi Automobile in the Beijing Economic Development Zone. The company has set its sights on commencing mass production in the first half of 2024.
In February 2024, it was announced that Xiaomi Automobile’s first model, the SU7, would enter the Start of Production (SOP) phase in the latter half of the month, marking the initiation of mass production. The target production volume for the first month after SOP, in March, is approximately 2,000 vehicles, with plans to further increase production capacity to over 10,000 vehicles per month by mid-2024.
Addressing rumors of “buying and receiving Beijing license plates” on February 23, Xiaomi Automobile clarified that the reports were completely untrue and assured that official information regarding pricing, delivery, and sales policies would be announced in due course.
On March 19, 2024, Lei Jun took to his personal Weibo account to announce the official unveiling of Xiaomi Automobile’s super factory, showcasing the company’s commitment to its manufacturing capabilities.
Finally, on March 28, 2024, Xiaomi held the listing launch event for the SU7, introducing its first electric sedan to the market. The front emblem of the vehicle features Xiaomi’s well-known “MI” logo, albeit without the signature orange color. Instead, it adopts a metallic base color with slightly greyish lettering, lending it a more sophisticated and refined appearance.
