BYD has announced that its new model under the Ocean series, the Hanse 07, will make its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show. It is touted as a vehicle that leads the trend and embodies a completely new aesthetic of the Ocean brand.

The Hanse Lion (海狮) differs from the Hanse Dolphin (海豚) and Hanse Seal (海豹) in that it is positioned as a mid-size all-electric SUV. The vehicle’s dimensions are approximately 4770mm in length, 1910mm in width, and 1620mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. These dimensions are quite similar to those of the Tesla Model Y.

Based on the official provided sketches, the positioning of this car is expected to be a coupe SUV, with dimensions ranging between compact and mid-size. From the front view, the car adopts a design language called “Ocean X Face,” characterized by a sharp and aggressive appearance, bearing some resemblance to the Song PLUS EV model, which also belongs to the Ocean series.

Moving to the side profile of the vehicle, it appears to have a relatively high ground clearance and a sloping rear end. There are also faint indications of multiple character lines incorporated into the design. As for the rear, it is known that the car will feature a continuous taillight assembly and a larger rear bumper, possibly emphasizing a crossover style. However, whether this car will be equipped with DM-i hybrid or pure electric powertrain remains unknown at the moment.

The 21st Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition will be held from November 17th to 26th at the China Import and Export Fair Complex. BYD, as well as Yǎngwàng, Téngshì, and Fāngchéngbào, will have their exhibition areas located in Hall 4.2 on the second floor of Area A, occupying over half of the total exhibition space.
